With spring having officially arrived and patio season around the corner, there are many spots worth trying if you are in and around Luxembourg City. The city center has been undergoing a transformation, becoming more modern with many trendy spots popping up. These are some of the places I recommend trying if you are looking to grab a drink or sit down and have a meal for any time of day.
Urban Bar and Restaurant

Opening hours: Sunday – Thursday, 10:00 – 01:00, Friday and Saturday, 10:00 – 03:00
Near the Grant Ducal Palace, you will find many bars that bring people together among which you will find Urban. It is a super hip spot made up of two floors, and an outdoor dining space that lies in the pedestrian zone of the city. It comes to life after work hours and on the weekend. This is a place I absolutely love coming to for drinks. I do not know why I say drinks when I really come for a good Pornstar Martini. The food is also incredible with the loaded fries bring a must every time I go.
Pop Up Hertz

What formerly used to be the Tapis Hertz store, hence the name, this spot is in the heart of the city. It has a beautiful setting accommodating everyone by having an enjoyable outdoor seating area (both in the sun and in the shade, as well as any season as they bring out the space heaters in the winter) and of course, indoor seating in a vintage yet modern layout. This is the ideal brunch spot with a mouthwatering selection of pastries, pancakes, toasts among other items. Something I love about this spot is that you can have an açaí bowl at any time of the day, even for dinner. Because really, who does not love a good açaí bowl. The food is also great during lunch and dinner with the bao buns being my favorite especially because the first time I tried them, they sized up the portion.

Something people will come to know about Luxembourg is that this country is always levelling up with new constructions at every corner. One of these things is the urbanization of Royal Hamilius with the addition of the new tram, new work and living spaces, and shops. A recent addition to this area is La Mezzanine du Boulevard offering a chic place for any occasion. Given its recent opening and the fact that I am currently out of the country, this is the only place I have not tried myself on the list. However, I already see myself coming here for brunch or for some evening drinks just by glancing at the menu.
Bazaar Bar and Restaurant

I still remember when this location used to be a two-story toy store, oh how times have changed. Bazaar sits on the edge of Place Guillaume and offers a variety of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food. It has a lively and well-decorated atmosphere. It is definitely the spot for sharing food and enjoying some cocktails. I recommend having the tower of food giving you and your group a little bit of everything to try. With patio season in full swing, it is also a nice spot to enjoy some tea.
Amore Bar Restaurant

Last spring, Urban found itself with a new and trendy neighbor. Amore is an elegant spot to enjoy some bites and nicely prepared drinks, all in good company. Just like its neighbor, it comes to life after work and on the weekend, filling the streets with people as it offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu gets new additions so keep up to date by following their Instagram. They also started serving brunch on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Overall, this is a great place to be on the weekend if you are looking to immerse yourself in a more dynamic environment.
